Youth League

Here are the league details:

For just $79.00 / player your child will receive:

  • an 11 week season
  • one training session during the week with a Blue Tornado coach (see coaching slate below) who knows the game of soccer and can implement our proven Individual Player Development curriculum in a fun yet challenging environment
  • a League Director (see below), who will not be coaching teams, whose only role is to administer the league and track player development with the coaching staff
  • a nonstop, super fast and fun game on our “indoor soccer” fields where coaches will utilize our “Pause, Learn, Play” methodology that ensures good soccer choices and habits are learned through discussion and self - discovery thus increasing a player’s overall enjoyment of the game
  • addition optional training session for selected players
  • a training shirt

League Nuts and Bolts:

  • Division 1:  Competitive division, 10 game season followed by playoffs and consolation games, trophy provided to winner
  • Division 2: Recreational division, 10 game season followed by fun jamboree tournament, medals provided to all players
  • Age Groups:  3.5 - 4 years (D2  only), 5 - 6 years (D2 only), 7 - 10 years (D1 & 2), 11 - 12 years (D1 &2)
  • Age Groups Practices/Games:
    • 3.5 - 4 years:  1 Saturday morning session
    • 5 to 12 years: 1 weekday evening practice from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm and one Saturday morning game 
    • players selected for additional training the sessions will be held on Fridays 5:30 pm
  • For Division 1, players may enter as a team (must have at least 8 players on your team and individual registrations are required); teams may be coed, all male or all female
    • Competitive teams entering as a team may choose to use their own team coach for instructing practice sessions and managing games
  • For Division 2,  all players will register individually and Blue Tornado will make the teams

Winter League Details:

Season starts first week of December and ends first week of April.  Registration deadline is November 15th.  Registrations will only be taken after November 15th if there is availability

Youth League Staff
Director Sidney Causey
 

Sidney is a recent graduate from Florida Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and is currently employed at Raytheon Technologies / Nightwing.  With her outstanding leadership and management skills combined with her long standing involvement in the game of soccer Coach Sidney is poised to make yours and your child’s soccer experience an enjoyable one!

Coach Jordan Humbert
 

Coach Jordan is in her 4th season as the Assistant Coach for Eastern Florida State College Women’s team.  A Rockledge native, Jordan played 4 years of NCAA Division II women’s soccer at Eckerd College and then Valdosta State University where she earned her B.A. in Communications.  She is entering her 5th season as the Rockledge High School Girls Head Coach and is excited to have the opportunity to now coach youth players in her community.

Coach Mike Karr
 

Coach Mike, who holds his national USSF and NSCAA youth licenses, has over 20 years of coaching, director of coaching and executive director experience in all levels of the game of soccer.  Currently Mike is the Iconz Elite youth and USL goalkeeper coach and Rockledge High School Girls Assistant Coach.  Mike is excited not only to work with your child but to also help the next generation of enthusiastic Blue Tornado coaches. 

Coach Sara Soto
 

Coach Sara is the current Cocoa Beach Girls Varsity Head Coach and continues to play soccer in the Blue Tornado Women’s League.  Sara is a former collegiate student-athlete who attended Goshen College and Assistant Coach at Feather River and Yuba Colleges .  She is excited to introduce soccer to new players in hopes of creating a life long passion for the game. 

Coach Joseph Rinke
 

Coach Joseph, who earned his UEFA B coaching badge, last coached at SC Bruehl in Germany earning the Under 14s league promotion as well as several players being accepted into the club’s professional academy. Joseph was a student athlete at California Sate University Los Angels and were NCAA Division II Conference Champions.  He now wants to share his experiences and show youth players the beauty, passions and cultures of soccer. 

 

Coach Christian Jarvis
 

Coach Christian has been playing soccer since he was 4 years old and continues to play in the Blue Tornado Adult League.  Christian is excited to bring forward aspects and experiences from different club cultures and create a welcoming environment so that he can develop fundamental skills and a solid knowledge base of the game resulting in each player enjoying the game even more.

Coach Deryan Baltazar
 

Coach Deryan starting playing soccer at age 9 in AYSO and continued up until is sophomore  year of college at University of Central Florida where is currently earning his master’s degree.  Deryan also continues to coach by assisting many of his former coaches and says, “Some of the best people and role models that have come across my life have been coaches, ready to step up and do the same."

Coach Olivia Miller

Coach Olivia played soccer as a young child then discovered she was awesome at softball, joined a travel team and continued to play softball through high school.  Olivia has previously coached softball and volleyball as well as provided individual instruction for aspiring softball players.  She is back to playing soccer in the Blue Tornado Women’s League and is excited to once again be able to pursue her passion in coaching.  

Coach Fredrick Usma Florez
 

Coach Fredrick starting playing soccer at the age of 5 year, is a former student athlete for 4 years at Baruch College in NY and continues to play today in the Blue Tornado Adult League.  Fredrick loves the game and wants to make an impact on the future development of young players, especially for his 1 year child that will be off and kicking the ball before he knows it!

Coach Galen Morley
 

Coach Galen first coached soccer in the Cocoa YMCA where he found instructing youth players was very rewarding and would like to continue his coaching and coaching education at Blue Tornado.  Galen enjoys the high energy the kids bring to each session and hopes they too will fall in love with the game.  He continues to play soccer in the Blue Tornado Adult League. 

Coach Ghalid Glen Brown
 

Coach Glen throughout his life has always played on competitive teams that he feels had very strong, positive and unifying leadership.  He believes coaching is a great way to be involved in the community while simultaneously learning and growing as an individual. 

Coach Daniel Hopengarten
 

Coach Daniel has over 15 years of playing experience from 4 years old to his high school team to Eastern Florida State College to the Blue Tornado Adult League.  Daniel previously coached at Port St. John Soccer Club and would like to further learn about all aspects of player development and how to implement them properly.
